Abstract

This study aims to investigate the relationship between interpersonal communication and the interest in counseling services among students at the Faculty of Psychology, Universitas AKI. The research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design. A total of 150 students were selected as participants using random sampling. Data were collected using two instruments: the Interpersonal Communication Scale and the Counseling Interest Scale, both of which were validated for reliability and validity. The results were analyzed using Pearson’s correlation to determine the relationship between interpersonal communication and interest in counseling services. The findings revealed a positive and significant correlation between interpersonal communication and interest in counseling services (r = 0.56, p < 0.01), indicating that better interpersonal communication is associated with greater interest in utilizing counseling services. These results suggest that improving interpersonal communication skills could increase students' willingness to seek counseling support.
